RFP# 05132018-1000: Business Strategy Development

 

Previously USAID LENS has supported FINCA Jordan on multiple levels - related to market research, and customer segmentation analysis vs. existing product features. The market research revealed furious competition among the MFIs in Jordan. FINCA Jordan recognizes that its current way of doing business will not allow them to remain competitive within the current market. As such, changes are required in their business strategy to gain a competitive advantage and to grow their business in order to sustainably provide financial services to their clients.

 

FINCA Jordan requires a 3-year business strategy to design a path to growth and profitability among competition and constant changes within the microfinance sector. This business strategy document should help FINCA Jordan to analyze factors impacting current and past performance, spot emerging market opportunities, determine strategic solutions, and develop creative action plans as it relates to the offering of their products/services and marketing plan.

RFP# 05132018-1030: MSE Payments Survey

 

The selected firm will utilize quantitative and qualitative assessment tools including (a) survey questionnaires and (b) Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Both will be developed in English by USAID LENS and will need to be translated into Arabic by the selected firm. In total, 125 completed survey interviews (100 MSEs and 25 SMEs) and 10 FGDs (6-8 participants) need to be completed.  The research should take place in the governorates of Irbid, Amman and Zarqa.

 

The analyzed results of the study will inform the financial services providers (MFIs and PSPs) on the challenges and opportunities that micro and small businesses face with Access to Finance (A2F) generally and payments specifically. The report will help to provide core inputs for all stakeholders in developing training and marketing materials, as well as in the upgrading of strategies in how to engage with micro and small businesses. The results will be analyzed by USAID LENS, though the research firm must prepare a report of descriptive / marginal statistical findings.
