FHI 360, represented by USAID LENS, is soliciting proposals from qualified offerors to design and implement an awareness and empowerment campaign nationwide. The overall aim of campaign is to improve the visibility of Women in Traditional Trades (WNTs) by tackling barriers hindering women’s participation in labor market and promoting increased participation of women in non-traditional trades. Also, to promote the role of Women in Traditional Trades (WNTs) and break gender stereotypes by conducting a number of activities such as seminars, social media campaigns and field visits to schools which shows examples of successful women working in sectors other than those where women are typically concentrated and includes professions that are considered particularly gender non-conforming, such as plumbing and carpentry. According to USAID LENS research data, Jordanian women’s economic activity, including entrepreneurship and ownership, is predominantly limited to work related to their social roles as caretakers: food production, child care and education, health care, personal grooming and well-being.
