USAID LENS in collaboration with Tanmeyah; the Jordanian Microfinance Network, held the seconed finance fair event in Karak on May 6, 2017 at Al-Mujib Hotel and was attended by 292 participants. Five MFIs with branches in Karak governorate participated and presented their products and services through direct meetings and presentations. The event was formally opened at 10:00 AM with a ribbon cutting and introductory speeches from Rashad Bibars (LENS COP), Eng. Hussam Al Karaki (Deputy Head of Municipal Committee), and Saleem Nammari (Tanmeyah Director). The Finance Fair's objective was to promote the Jordanian Microfinance Industry (financial/non-financial products and services) in order to admit new clients into this sector. Moreover, the fair aimed at enhancing and cultivating the society’s awareness towards how microfinance can be an effective economic tool used to catalyze developmental startup projects; allowing businesses to launch and grow, thus alleviating poverty and creating new jobs.
