The land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) in cooperation with the USAID-funded Local Enterprise Support Project, held, on Saturday Feb 17th, a fifth training workshop for driving training centers in areas of international safety and professional standards, which lasted for three days. The workshop was attended by 85 trainers representing 40 driving training centers in the kingdom.
The workshop was organized in the context of the project : “Supporting Micro and small enterprises in the transport sector”, which has so far trained more than 6000 drivers throughout the Kingdom representing various types of road transport subsectors.
Previously, and in cooperation with the USAID LENS project, the LTRC had prepared an cohesive training curriculum that took into account most important international standards in safety and professionalism. The curriculum covers several topics including: transportation of passenger, Transportation of goods, the digital tachograph, transport of dangerous goods (ADR) and the professional competence of fleet managers.
