The purpose of this RFA is to help create more jobs in economic sectors that demonstrate sustainable growth and activity (job creation), and/or to place or pair potential workers with job opportunities (job placement). The sectors of greatest focus for USAID LENS include Tourism, Food Processing, Transportation and ICT as an enabler. However, other sectors can be considered for this initiative but will require special approval. The outcome of this RFA will result in the placement or creation of a minimum of 1,500 jobs across the country of which 500 in total must be for women. Applicants are expected to a create minimum of 500 jobs. USAID LENS may award up to a total of 3 grants through this mechanism, meaning that 1, 2, or 3 awards to be made. USAID LENS reserves the right not to make any award. USAID LENS award will not cover the costs for any salary subsidies or similar costs to offset the direct costs of hiring.
